Why we can't wait...
Explore Fairy Chimneys & Valleys
Fairy Chimneys can be found all around Cappadocia. We will go on a couple of tours and explore different areas and visit places like Love Valley – famous for its penis-shaped rock formations.
Other valleys we will explore are pigeon valley, and Sword & Rose valleys. We will also do the beautiful Ilhara valley hike by the river. Wow so manyvalleys to explore!
Ride a Hot Air Balloon
Of course, we will have the optional extra to ride a hot air balloon at sunrise. Of course, this is not mandatory but it is once in a lifetime.
Otherwise get up early & walk to one of the many viewpoints & watch hundreds of hot air balloons take to the skies as the sun wakes up.
Visit the Underground City
One of the cultural highlights of Cappadocia are its underground cities. As the region was subject to frequent invasions, these cities were built to provide shelter to citizens and contained rooms, kitchens, communal areas, cellars, storage rooms, wineries, churches, schools and so on. Derinkuyu is one of 150-200 known underground settlements in the Cappadocia region and is approximately 85 deep below ground. It was opened to visitors in 1965 but only 10% of the city can be visited.
Try Turkish Cuisine
You know we love to eat. So trying out all the delicacies Turkey has to offer is high up on our to=do list.
From Mercimek kofte appetizers, to kebabs and turkish delights – we want to try it all. We will also be doing an authentic cooking class together & learning how to make some traditional Turkish dishes.
