Join a freelancing Jobs site

Let’s get this out of the way first. You need to find a job site that has an abundance of job listings in your niche. Then you need to set up a killer profile and be ready to send out an irresistible proposal to potential clients. If you’re not putting yourself out there – you’re not going to get any interest. 

The main ones are Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer.com, Flexjobs, Toptal.

Also look at smaller job platforms where there could be less competition like Outsourcely, Remote.com, Angellist, Remote OK – to name a few. 

Join an agency

So you may be a web developer, VA, graphic designer, or content writer – or another type of freelancer. Many times, you can join an agency within your niche or more broadly as a freelancer. 

1840 & Company for example allows you to join as an expert and then they will give you the work & take a commission. 

Bear in mind, that agencies will do a vetting process, so be sure to have a solid portfolio. 

Linkedin Jobs

Ok, so Linkedin is so old school, right? WRONG! It’s actually seen a boom since it grew in the last quarter of 2020 – by 26%! There is tons more engagement and people are using it like Facebook. Make sure your profile is looking hella fresh and up to date. 

In the jobs section – set the location to ANYWHERE and put in the keywords REMOTE when searching. 

Then apply & connect with the company & hiring manager if possible. 

Use a paid service

If you are sick of looking on job boards and just want relevant job listings sent to you – think about using a paid service like Vollna.

Facebook groups

I have seen so much success with my clients when they look for jobs in Facebook groups. The key is to know which groups to join. 

Where do your ideal clients hang out? 

What are they interested in? Join those groups and start engaging. Once a day check your group’s tab on FB to see if anything relevant has popped up. 

Don’t be afraid to comment and send a DM if people are searching for your services.
